HMMMmmmm back inside now after a peaceful night in "le petite pois"..No snoring man . just an owl ,and something rubbing against the side in the early hours ,i didnt look! i just hid under the quilt, sasha who i'd took for company didn't twitch a whisker. It got windy early on and it took me some time, to realise what the tapping and knocking was??? and strange scrapings!!! and then i realised it was the rowan berries falling and rolling off the roof duuuuu so much for a peaceful night..I'd dug out one of my Elizabeth Gouge novels The White Witch....Shes a lovely writer.............................The moon i think contributed to my restlessness , it's light keeping me awake... And then once looking out i was captivated by the beauty of the strange landscape and how everything was changed just by being seen under a different light,,Our pond dull and green during the day, was a disc of silver!! and i itched to have a camera to capture it, The apples on the tree where turned into magical fruit and the trees into graceful beings ..Whats the song with the line" you fill up my senses like a night in a forest" Well i feel a bit like that.....I'll be there again tonight.xx

Yes I know that song and now I'm singing it madly trying to get the title and the singer.

ReplyDeleteThat photo of the Pea is a charmer.
ReplyDeleteAnd then, to have your words give us such a view of night sights and sounds. Enchanting!
What you need is Quies wax ear plugs - they are wonderful . . . I have used them ever since we lived near a horrible noisy pub. I have very sensitive hearing and wake up easily - but these wax life savers mean I sleep through most things now.
ReplyDeleteANNIES SONG BY JON DENVER the best song in the world
ReplyDeleteYou fill up my senses
Like a night in a forest
Like a mountain in springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
Like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses
Come fill me again
Come let me love you
Let me give my life to you
Let me drown in your laughter
Let me die in your arms
Let lay down beside you
Let me always be with you
Come let me love you
Come love me again
Let me always be with you
Come let me love you
Come love me again
He wrote it in 10 minutes on a ski lift x

ReplyDeleteyes, a beautiful song indeed!
ReplyDeleteBodran, I lust after Le Petit Pois!! I've told the Great Dane about it and said that something like it would be just the thing here - he thinks I'm not serious, but I mean it!
Up in my attic bedroom I have a view over the garden down to the Yew tree that sits majestically in the middle of the lawn and I can gaze and gaze at it in the night when the moon is out and I never get tired of it - ah the life of an insomniac!
ReplyDeletePS. You read me far too well! No sympathy whatsoever with the meter man but in the interests of community relations I really was going to apologise....(crossed fingers) HONEST !!!!
The thought of uninterrupted reading is very tempting, darn't start a new book, until term starts, no point, it'll be chaos for the next few days
ReplyDeleteOoh er, don't like the sound of the thing rubbing itself.... and now I have jon denver runnign th rough my head all day. had a cider last night and toasted you!!
